Microgaming History - a brief overview
1994
Micrograming develops its first fully operational online casino.
1995
Launch a player tracking system and casino management tools and starts
to license the technology.
1997
Co-founds the Interactive Gaming Council, being instrumental in
defining a code of conduct for the gaming industry.
1998
Microgaming-powered online casinos launch the first inter-casino linked
progressive jackpot slot game, Cash Splash.
1999
Releases PlayCheck, its Online Audit Technology, and contracts
PricewaterhouseCoopers as auditor of payout percentages and game fairness for
all its member casinos.
2000
Releases an instant play / Flash version of the casino software.. It
released CashCheck - a payout tracking technology,. New progressives in
LotsaLoot, WowPot, FruitFiesta and SupaJax in the same year.
2001
Lauinches multi-language casinos as and download-as-you-play
technology. Microgaming operators were voted to have best Roulette, Slots,
Craps, and Progressive Games in Casino Player Magazine's "The Best of
Online Gaming" survey. In addition, it Microgaming was voted Best
Software Supplier in Casino Player Magazine's."The Best of Online
Gaming" survey.
2002
With more than 100 games in its portfolio, it launched four new
progressive games, including Major Millions. Progressive wins at
Microgaming powered casinos continued to set online world records, with the
largest Online Jackpot Win of Over $1,500,000 on Major Millions.
Progressive Poker and Poker table games were released. Microgaming was voted "Best
System Provider" by Gaming Express Magazine. It was awarded
Players? Choice Award by Gambling Online Magazine.
2003
Microgaming launched its pioneering Viper platform (front-end software)
launched, which enabled play in expert mode and other advanced features,
enhancing game play. It launched Poker software, powering the Prima Poker
network. The largest Online Jackpot of $1,626,184 was won on on
Major Millions Progressive. As at May 2003, Progressive Jackpot Payouts totalled
more than $93,000,000.
